ROOT CANAL TREATMENT

While teeth seem hard on the outside, they contain soft tissue rich in blood vessels and nerves on the inside called pulp. Pulp can be inflamed or infected due to injury or deep cavities, causing severe pain and discomfort. In the past, diseased or injured teeth were usually pulled and replaced with an artificial tooth. But today, a tooth can often be saved through root canal (endodontic) treatment. If a tooth is removed it can lead to its neighboring teeth to shift making biting and chewing difficult in addition to cosmetic deficiencies. Root canal treatment can prevent these problems by saving your natural tooth. When properly restored, a tooth with a root canal filling can last for many years.
